Had this car since 1999 - I am the third owner, if you count my parents as the second.

The Good:

• good paint
• good interior
• extra parts
• in running condition - except that the battery is not charging
• new alternator
• bought with silver rims, not white (I think this is good, you may think bad)

The Bad:

• AC buttons cracked
• oil leak somewhere toward back of engine - doesn't hit ground, but burns off
• not charging battery - new alternator, but haven't taken to get tested
• cam chain loose - probably tensioner - have extras coming with car
• hasn't been driven in years - other than to gas station and up and down road
• rear window motors don't work, have extras to come with car
• trans pan dented, have extra to come with car
• OD button wires are cut
• seems like lock switch is dirty - works most of the time

parts coming with the car include:

• valve covers
• intake
• headlights
• taillights
• cam chains
• cam chain tensioners
• cam chain sprockets
• trans pan
• window motors
• radiator reservoir
• Look at the second link..lots of parts.

This car is 17 years old. I think its in pretty good condition for not being driven for years. The battery not charging keeps me from driving it very much. It needs a good wash/wax. Never wrecked - had some roof damage from a guy opening the garage door while it was on the rack - fixed to look like new.

These pictures were taken a year and a half ago, but the car has literally been driven about 20 miles since then - maybe. Probably more like 5 miles.

Ready to get rid of this car. I'm just outside Louisville, KY - have the title in hand. A little work and this could be a daily driver - I just don't have the time or money to put into it. I have a kid now...hence, no time/money.

A very reasonable price. Even though there are a few mechanical issues, it's a very clean car. I bet this one is sold before the night is over.

That's a really good price....if this weren't about 3 months too early, I'd drive up there and snatch it up but I'm broke until tax time. All the issues seem pretty minor.

This car still hasn't sold? Even with the issues it's not a bad looking car. If you haven't sold this by end of March or April, I might think about picking it up still. I really wanted another MTX but my 1st SHO was a white/tan ATX so it's kind of special. Plus if I get this one cheap, I can always buy a 3rd SHO.

Do you plan on looking to see why the battery won't stay charged? That's the only issue with buying the car and someone driving it back.

Both the battery and the alternator can be checked, usually for free, at an auto parts store.

At the selling price, you shouldn't have to do anything more to it. This should be considered a "buy it and trailer it home" car. Anyone that expects to pay $700 for a rust free SHO and drive it home is nuts.

Speaking of which, what's the condition of the body on this car? Rust free, one would assume, since it's from KY?

James, the owner moved up to KY from the MS Gulf Coast. I spoke to him about the car before, so it should be a Southern car. I thought the car was still on the Gulf Coast an hour away, so that's why I originally contacted him. I'd thought about picking it up around April if it was still for sale but have no way to really trailer it back unless the starting issue was figured out.

Car is rust free on the body. I've had some requests for new pics, I'll upload some new pics tomorrow and post a link. Specifically, pictures will include undercarriage, wheel wells, all around and top of exterior and some interior.

This car was purchased in Biloxi, MS and was in Long Beach/Pass Christian until 1996 when it was taken to Hattiesburg, MS for a few years... Brought to Floyds Knobs, IN in 2001 and has been here ever since.

It's raining and I didn't want to get under the car. I'll try tomorrow if no rain. If you're looking at the May 05 expiration on the tag and wondering why it has had a MS tag if it's been in Floyds Knobs, IN since 2001; I kept my license in MS until this year due to hunting rights and always tagged the car at my old address to avoid hassles with cops questioning a difference in the two.

This car is a nice car and the interior looks really good. Let it run for a bit tonight - as long as the battery would hold it. Get this one, I think you'd be getting a great deal!
