Hey guys...

I just drove about 60miles with the FireHawk SZ50 on the ATX in all that snow.

Scariest friggin drive of my life.

Anyways, I have a good set (read: Nearly New) tires on the front of the MTX that are Continental All Season tires that I was happy with in the snow.

I am going out to buy some snow tires tomorrow and was wondering if it would be alright or ill advised to buy a good set of snows for the front and use the all seasons on the rear, or if I should buy full out winter tires for all 4 corners.

TIA

I personally would never put two different sets of tires on the fronts and backs.

I would go with blizzaks on all four, tire rack has some good deals on them, and you get a SHOforum discount on them I think..

I've had the blizzaks, and I would suggest Kelly Wintermarks. about 90% as good for half the cost.

I know what you mean, I had to drive my SHO in the snow with Yoko Intermediates once....put my winters ont he next day.

Winter tires on all 4 corners is the only way to go. They have so much more grip than all season tires that you will have a dangerous oversteer condition if you only put the winter tires on the front.(The rear will whip around unpredictably.)

Thanks for the replies guys...

it is unanimous (sp?) around here and the board and the ontario sho mailing list that winter front and all season rear is a bad combo...
