After reving my engine especially after starting from a hill (or trying to start in 2 high a gear) I see and smell smoke coming from the engine.
THe smoke comes out of my engine oil dipstick and from the engine oil cap. The level of the oil is good and it is not burnt. There is no sign of coolant leaking, so I don't think the head gasket is bad. Also the emission seems Ok although the check engine sign comes on after I have been driving for a while.
What scares me is the engine oil cap smells like gas. DOes anybody have any ideas on where the gas could be leaking from or if this could be a bigger damage than what I am thinking.
I just bought the car at an auction so it could be anything.

When it smokes there is also some coming from the overflow bottle. It is an 89 SHO.
I am not sure is a leaking Cam Sensor would cause this problem or possibly the front main seal.
