Ok This ones has go me baffeled. I was out sat night and went from 3rd to 2nd really quick (on accident) Anyway now I have a very slight vibration. Its only there at idle and above 4k. I have no knocks or anything like that. It feels like something is out of ballance. Also Iam the only on that can feel it. No one else even notices it. Its my car and I just can tell something is wrong with it.Also its harder to shift now. I do have the rod shifter and never had a problem before now. It feels more like the sycros are working really hard to let it shift. Thanks in advance.

half-way there, I think.
You may not want to drive the car - almost sounds like you broke a strap/rivet on the pressure plate. If you indeed did break one - it can ginsu the inside of the tranny case and puch a hole into the wet party of it, thats bad. The vibration you are feeling is mostly like do to the pressure plate being out of balance (broken strap/rivet) Is it hard to get into any gear?? Grinds like you don't have the clutch all the way in?? A may not be a broken strap/rivet - but you should check it out so you don't wind up buying a tranny.

Not very likely. The transmission is bolted to the engine and the shifter on your 1989 is connected with very flexible cables to the transmission. Engine motion would have very little, if any effect.

Ya know I was thinking the same thing. Not a broken strap on the PP but a cracked flywheel or a broken clutch disk. But I have no noise inside the bellhouseing. Well I do but its just the throwout bearing whineing.

I do have to drive the car Iam just takeing it easy on it and not takeing it over 4k. Iam going to start driveing my truck next week but I cant park the sho until then. Also my wifes car (97 GTP) needs a rear main seal:( So this is a lot of money going out right around xmas. One good thing is I bought a hi-revs clutch from someone on here awhile back so I have clutch but dont have the money to do it right now. If I wait until spring I can do it myself. Its just to cold to do it now and I cant put the TA outside in the snow wink Also could the balancer spin and put it out of balance? (Outside spin in relation to the inside like a sb chevy) there is a rubber ring inbetween the two on a chevy. Thanks for all the help guys it just looks like I need to put it up and work on it in the spring :( I really like the car but the trans and everyting conected to it except the engine sucks! Thanks again thumbs_u
