Small M90 project photo-update :HEADER:

Just thought Id share what I fooled around with today.... lots of cutting/grinding/welding today

Almost have the front header together. I had to redesign it from my first design. It feeds into a fabricated 2.5 collector. From here, a ****** will be welded in place, and standard exhaust tubing from there.

Hurray for things that come out as they should!

Ive got a rear header to build too, and they will both be sent away for some sort of hot-coating Right now the header in the pics has been torn apart for proper welding. The legs from the ****** to the collector will be fully welded and smoothed, then rewelded to the ****** and collecter.

I think those are the plates that I sold to Kenny, if I'm not mistaken. I had those and two or three other sets made up at my local Water-Jet machine shop. I don't remember offhand how much they cost per set but it was rather cheap, I think in the 39.00 to 45.00 dollar range.

Yes, the flanges were purchased from Tom. Thanks Tom :wave:

BTW, Tom, did you have to have the flanges remachined after your headers were assembled? These flanges seem very sturdy and thick, but Im thinking that they may still warp when I weld them up.

The header is quite heavy, havnt weighed it though.

And keep your shorts on, this project is long-term. It is a side project. Ive always got a ton of other things going. When I have the time, this project gets some attention.

So will you be running a rear header too or going to stick with the stock manifold? That would be sweat with 2 custom headers and maybe equal the exhaust a little bit more. (I don't know how much that would really matter.)
