Ok here is the deal, when my cars engine is cold it doesn't seem to respond as fast as it should when I give it gas. Like when I am trying to pull away from a stop sign and it will stall or almsot stall cause it just will not act like it does when it is warm. I fixed some of the problem with a new thermostat the old one must have been leaking all the time cause it would never get even to the "L". Back to the problem anyway I pulled codes and never got anything, the temp outside is about 3c or 37f. Motorcraft plugs and wires are only about 5 months old and maybe 6000 miles old. No oil in the plug wells. When motor is warm it runs like a scared cat.
Anyone have any ideas?

Well, heres one idea, DONT GET ON A COLD ENGINE. Its one of the WORST things you can do to ANY engine and if you want your car to last, I suggest waiting till the car is warmed up until you start racing away from stopsigns.

Yeah I completly agree, one should know what ice cold oil does( not much), wait till the engine gets to what they call "NORMAL OPERATING TEMPERATURE". Its bad practice to be reving the car high when the engine is ice cold like that.

Ok I am not talking about racing the engine I am talking abuout giving it enough fuel to pull away from a stop sign. Maybe even on a slight grade. ya know a 5 spd? Where did the idea come from that I was racing away from stop signs??? And the motor is not ice cold its just not completly up to normal...

Sounds like the "open loop" mode may be too rich for complete combustion. Try cleaning the MAF sensor filaments and resetting the idle progam. You can search on both of those terms for descriptions in the Forum on how to perform these jobs. You may also check the cleanliness of your air filter.

Thanks Scott I cleaned the Maf about a month ago. The K&N was out yesterday and didn't seem that dirty. There is not that many miles on it. But the summer was kind of dusty so maybe I will clean it and give it a try. I may as will clean the Maf again anyway. I let ya know how it goes.

I cleaned the MAF, and the air fliter even though the air filter has not got many miles not it not even 10000 on it but it has been in almost a year, it was not very dirty just seemed to be more bugs in it than dirt.
The problem has gone away, thumbs_u so either one of these was the problem most likely the MAF.
How often does a MAF have to be cleaned?
I cleaned it about a month ago. I am aware of the over oiling of the K&N but this is the first time it had been cleaned.
