what have you guys found to be the MOST COMMON cause of a very slight miss at low rpms (below 1800 or so only) weather the car is in park or drive it has this very subtle miss and I dont want to start replacing every part under the hood to find out where it comes from, the only thing I have done so far was a fuel filter, which obviously wasnt the issue. Would a new set of plugs be the cheapest and easiest things to try first??

Most likely a coil. Unfortunately there are 8 of them and the rear four aren't easily accessible making swapping them around blindly difficult.

Cheapest way would be to buy four (or eight) off e-bay and replace the rear four then use the old four from the rear as spares for the front if the rear four replacement didn't fix it. I think others have found the e-bay coils to be around $25 a piece.

I have 6 new ones. Two are labeled Motorcraft, four are no names. All are identical.

$40 each shipped.
