Hello all,

Looks like Uncle Sam will move me to DC when I get done with my all expenses paid Afghanistan trip - I am wondering if I should drive my SHO in the winter once I get there or start looking for another car.

I have a California (no rust) 92 with new paint, resurfaced seats, new suspension. The sub frame was taken out of this car and painted and everything that you could do to the engine has been done (maintenance wise). Some guys are saying DC winters aren't bad but I am not keen on salt getting on this car. Thoughts?

Thanks!

We are no strangers to salted roads in wintertime, not nearly as bad as further north, but ... If you want to keep the car rustfree, not gonna happen. But you can minimize it with regular car washes/waxes. If you will have a garage here, you can further minimize weather related wear/tear. Sometimes we get lucky and don't have any significant snow/ice, but humidity here can be a bear, easily getting up to 100% at times. So moisture can still be a problem. You know how the SHO's drainage channels are ...
