My 2014 SHO with only 24000 miles on it has blown rear shocks. The dealer wants $500+. I was hoping to put on Bilsteins but they don't make them for the SHO. Can any of you gurus recommend a good replacement that is better than factory? Thanks!

Not much better than factory unless you want to go with coil overs...

Let me rephrase that... there is nothing better than factory other than coilovers... check out Ecopowerparts...

No market...

Pp factory shocks (if you're non pp). They're like 50-60 bucks each on rock auto. Pretty nice handling upgrade.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm non-PP. I checked out rockauto.com and are you referring to the shock model w/ painted calipers?

Funny you should ask, I have asked the same question for awhile now an other then what has already been posted I have no answer. No one makes a performance shock specifically for the Taurus. Some company's make some pretty good general "Hot Rod" shocks but you need the exact shock specifications to see if they will fit. Not sure if you do your own work but if you do that night be something you want to check into. For what I want an skill level the Coil Overs are just way too much work for a car I use for road trips so I am passing on them.

I'm not necessarily looking for performance upgrades. I just want a better quality shock that won't fail in 3 years or less. It looks like KYB makes a shock that will fit so I might just go with that if I can't find something else.

If that's the case then I would say its a Crap Shoot, I have read out here some people had issues with the KYB shocks as well so who knows. My two cents if you just want to fix it I would say you got a bad shock and OEM are just as good as anything else.

KYB shocks have a lot bounce from what I understand...

I was happy with KYB shocks when I had. 96 Crown Vic interceptor. Hated their struts on my 88 Mark VII, they blew out quickly.
