So wifey drove the sho over a pole and it ****** it up. It needs a gas tank, fuel line, ATX trans pan (Where can I get that?), and a new exhaust. Probably a coupe tires in the end. So bad that we're buying a car so she has something to drive because I can't source parts before she has to go back to work. Thankfully it is her friday and she doesn't work until sunday. Oh and that she didn't fly into the ditch. Poor SHO :(

That is bad news.
There are kits that repair the gas line (a sleeve thing) and a new Sceptre gas tank is available from RockAuto. I may be wrong, but I think all transmission pans have the same bolt pattern except yours has SHO wrote on it (may be deeper, so check). Would be a good time to look into having a drain plug in it.
Keep the faith.

I am pretty sure I still have a complete fuel line setup (pressure and return) from a SHO in my for-sale collection. The trans pan for any of the axode tranny's is going to fit, so you can score one of those easily (if messy) at the jy, unless it is like the one I like to go to where they drill a hole in all of the pans to let out the oil... I would buy a new gas tank, to avoid the corrosion/debris issues that most 20 year old tanks have.
PM me is you are interested in the fuel lines.

PM sent Ruby, thanks for the offer.

Going with a new tank, 18.6 gallons? It's got 140K would it be wise to put a fuel pump in now?

Thanks for the heads up on the pan, I have read the filter sits lower in the SHO, I will be sure to get the filter for what ever car I pull it from.

I think I can get away with welding a new flex pipe in. The mufflers were pretty beat up so I will have to see if they leak..

Long live the SHO :)

I would put your original pump back in. One of mine had 320,000 km and it still works fine, if the tank is fairly full all the time, they last forever.
I would do the fuel tank door installation in case you have to look at it in the future. It is a lot easier with the tank out.
Get a gasket and filter for the SHO transmission from RockAuto or wherever you get the tank, they all may be the same, but who knows.

If the tank is out and exposed then heck yeah put a new pump in. You don't want to do stuff twice if you can avoid it.

The stronger SHO automatic transmission is barely enough for the motor. A regular Taurus tranny will not hold up. I forget the bolt patterns (mostly because I was never interested in a Taurus without the funky engine) between the two but that would be a bad idea.

it turns out that all of the fwd V6 engines (3.0 vulcan, 3.2 SHO, and 3.8) all have the vulcan bell housing pattern. However, the SHO trans has different ratios and higher torque capacity than the others, so they are not interchangeable.

btw, I finally found that fuel line set that we have been looking for, so I now just need to figure out how to box it so I can calculate shipping - I'll be in touch.

I guess only one option if the trans died... parts car and MTX swap

Good to hear Ruby! The block and head for my tbird comes home from the machine shop this week. The SHO should have a spot in the garage before turkey day :)
