Does anyone know where the best place to go to get the full downlow on the 3.2 ATX and the 3.0 MTX tranny is?

I have been trying to search the web and im really not having any luck as to find the specs on the 2 trannys... I want to compare the SHO tranny to the f2t tranny and see what the max hp stock they tranny can hold... Cause i know without blowing, the f2t tranny is really only capable up to 300hp without blowing and thats iffy..

So any specs or websites on this would be greatly helpful..

thanks for your time,
Bobby

Here is the best place to find info. SHO MTX trannys 3rd gear and differential are it's weaknesses. You can solve the diff by welding the pins or quaife. The diff's random some cars can do burnouts all day others pop a diff on the freeway. 3rd gear isnt a problem till you cross 300 ft lbs to the tires it seems. And you need to be running above 9psi to really do that.

half-way there, I think.
Exactly, most MTX transmissions start failing around 300tq at the wheels. However I know of a few n/a cars with just bolt ons that have broken 3rd gear. I don't hammer to ******* my car and so far so good. Being at 5280' elev. helps to, although my corrected torque number is 290 it's more like 240 or so at the wheels

15psi of boost got me 419 wheel hp (~505 crank hp), and as mentioned, around the 300 lb-ft mark. After stripping 2 3rd gears (one brand new / cryo-treated), I figured enough was enough & sold the blower car.

You need a Quaife differential to avoid the diff problems, & to help get the power to the ground.

Before I knew not to do burnouts in my car, I did several times accidently while learning to drive stick (my first time was test driving the SHO hehe) and I never blew anything up, I've also launched pretty ******* a few occasions and I haven't had any problems other than wheel hop/putting power down, only 4k on CM1 clutch. Wish I knew how to weld, 'cause I'd weld that diff pin up. Oh well...save up for a quaife!
