Hey SHOkids, it's been a while since I've visited the old forums here, what with starting college and stuff, but I have a pretty mundane question to ask.

About 3 weeks ago some silly girl ran a stop sign in front of my completely innocent SHO (and myself). I couldn't avoid her vehicle, though I did slow tremendously before impact. Anywho, the bumper, radiator, and radiator support needed to be replaced, courtesy of her insurance company. Now, I know that many auto service people aren't quite jive with the SHO being a "not regular" Taurus, if you know what I mean. So, before I go pick it up tomorrow, I would like to know: 1) do the SHO and SLO models of 1991 Taurii use different radiators, and 2) what are the visible (like once it is installed visible) differences between the two? I just know I'd really be ****** to find out I was screwed over by some insurance company trying to save a buck by putting a run of the mill radiator in my SHO when it needed a special one.

Now, I looked at Autozone for a '91 SHO radiator, and they gave me GDI part #432192, while the "New parts help" thread at the top of the forum says it should be GDI part #431394. So I'm confused. Is autozone wrong, or is the part database wrong, or are those just two minutely different versions of the same radiator?

Thanks for your help SHOnuts, you guys are an indispensable resource.

PS I don't know what brand or part # radiator the body shop actually installed, otherwise I would look it up. I am just using the GDIs as an example to see if the SLO and SHO share the same radiator.

The SHO and the SLO use the same radiator. The only difference is that the ATX SHO requires the use of the passenger side end tank's transmission fluid cooler where the MTX does not. The MTX can use the ATX's radiator and just not use the fluid cooler. I installed the Go Dan Inc. (GDI) 43-2192 with a lifetime warranty on my MTX. It did include the transmission fluid cooler.
