got any more pics of that lower intake more complete i wanna see how thats setup???? i dont get how it works and is that the fuel rail????

then get your self one of these :)

Try here:

And here:

In traditional V8SHO.com fashion, the second thread kind of reads bottom to top.

Yes, the fuel rails are the half inch pipe. They are plumbed so that the fuel goes in one end and circulates past all 8 injectors before exiting out the other end. Yes, the fuel rail is sealed INSIDE the intake manifold.

No thanks on the Magnum blower, too much cylinder compression already. A lower compression V8 is off in the future plans - THAT motor will get a serious supercharger. I just want to see this setup keep on living for a while and that much extra air can only lead to trouble, IMO.
FWIW - this is the first winter Chicago has seen more than 50" of snow since 1978/79 and this car has just been a trooper!

Do you see any kr with that setup?

Referring to different compression and cylinder #'s, The gtp's with the more efficient m90's produce about 6 psi stock, on the 3.8 v6. At 9 psi+ we start to see knock, and a lot of it. To get a 3.4" pulley on ours takes a cai, colder plugs, ported exhaust manifolds or headers, upgraded pcm at minimum, or it will knock and blow the engine.

I'm sure 9psi on a v8 is different from a v6, but I just want to know more about that setup

Does the m90 run out steam on the top end? Or would the m112 be right for the v8? Or would you just spin? Thanks Dan

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by run out of steam... but the m90 is a good s/c for this application. The m112 will produce a LOT more boost which he probably doesnt need for this high compression application. The m112 is more efficient at creating a lot of boost, but the m90 should work just fine.

I think the next step would be to add a water/air intercooler into that intake, wouldn't cost more than $200-300, and it would help make this setup safer or up the boost.

Bubba - I'm happy right where I'm at. I don't want to exceed 9PSI on a 10.5 to 1 compression motor. An M112 is off of much bigger motors like the Cobra 4.6 and the Lightning 5.4 IIRC. That's just too much air for one of our little motors, IMHO, unmodified. I'm working on a low compression beastie which WILL use an M112 safely, stay tuned for details. It may be a year or two knowing me.
This M90 is a 1st Gen, and I wouldn't mind going to a newer one with the internal bypass, but hey - when your friends are giving away blowers you shut your mouth and take what you're given.:thankyou:
Wheelspin was horrendous at the track last fall, I need sticky tires and a better driver. I couldn't use more horsepower if I had it. I have a few suspension mods in the back of my mind - 1/4 mile specific - which should help at the track a bit.
Running out of steam - I hold 9 PSI all the way to redline, so "No". The normal SHO torque curve starts weak and builds up with RPM's. The SHO R.T.S. torque curve is a wee bit different. Ever seen a dyno sheet from a roots blower car? It jumps to MAX torque @ ~2500 RPM's and sits there. The Butt-Dyno feels you get pinned in the seat hard and fast, but then there is no further "Pull" increase, so it is often interpreted as running out of steam.

Fo - I've thought about Alky injection like I have on my Lightning, maybe in the future. I get some knocking, and pulled timing, when I try to run mid-grade to save a buck or two. If I'm gonna run in boost, I HAVE to run 93 octane - which is where Doug Lewis set my tune anyhow. I've owed Doug some datalogging for - oh 6 MONTHS now!
I have GOT to get another laptop...but that is another story.

Ok that's what they mean about running of of steam. I didn't know the m112 was too big for the v8 sho. I just thought I would ask as I'm looking for a v8 sho thanks Dan

The M90 displaces up to 525 CFM at 10 psi. The V8 SHO engine running at 7000 RPMs with a VE of 1.00 sucks in 420 CFM. You're not going to run out of boost with an M90.

BTW, the V8 can see VEs above 1.00 N/A. I've seen it when data-logging on my SHO.

I got a ride in this baby over the weekend. :woohoo: I was a little sad going back to my newly aquired 98'. I need boost. That's all there is to it. Eric, great work!

Yea maybe run the coil wires through a metal flip that sticks up and backwards towards the intake to kinda hide the wires. Also, splice a few feet into the harness and run it around the coolant tank and up the 1/4 panel. That might be a little too time consuming though.

Hey Rudy -
It took 6 months, but I finally DID move the wire loom behind the intake - looks much cleaner, I'll have to post some pix.
I also finally picked up a good used laptop so I can do some data-logging.

Hopefully, I'll have some good news to follow soon.:sun:
