Ok, so i bought a 93 sho MXT about a month ago and have slowly been pulling out the motor and trans.. No the trans is bad, and i think its leaking through where the case meets, so i think its salvagable. Anyway, while the motor is out. i plan on doing rod and main berrings. We believe the heads were worked~ 20k ago, so we think were ok. we dont feel like buying a gasket set to find out. If you have any tips or know any torque specsi would love the help... ill get some pix ASAP!! thanks. upgates to come!

yes best bet i would say is to pick up a ford CD or hayne manual or something.. that way you know the tq specs and the order to tq down.

also i recommend doing a healthy cleaning on the engine, get the gunk out much as possible and dont be shy with ****

Thanks. When you say wash it down... you mean the exterior, right. Like i said, im not tearing the whole motor apart. I think all we plan on doing with the motor is, rod, main berrings, an all the timming equpiment (belt, tensioner, pullies sproket. I dont think well touch the chains tho. but sine we need to pull all the timming stuff off to o the berrings we figured it wouldnt hurt, excpt the pocket!!! We plan on doing an all motor build over the course of the summer with BBB's and honing the intake and then some other bolt ons, but we set a running date on her for may 1st, i think that it will be hard to hit, but we can get it. Im excited to see what these shos really got in them......

Mains arent too tough..just RETAIN YOUR THRUST WASHERS!!!!!

You will have to lower the crank some...this means rear main seal, carrier and oil pump gaskets. otherwise known as "lower conversion" set.

if you can find a quaife go for it. they are getting hard to find. when i had my tranny apart we put it back together with some anerobic sealer and it is still holding fine that was about a year ago. when you have it apart be sure to put in a drain plug so you can change the fluid out after getting some miles on it

Good luck with the Quaife. The last group buy set the price at $1300.
You MUST use anerobic sealer on the tranny case half's. DO NOT USE RTV!!!!
