SHO is making a weird sound under acceleration

Well i guess dropping thousands opon thousands of dollars into a sho isnt enough to keep it running good. I am now getting a strange noise from my sho under acceleration. At first it was only when i opened it up past 4k, but it seems to be getting progressivly worse. It kinda sounds like its coming from the front right part of the engine, but i cant really tell. The noise is very hard to describe. It kinda sounds like a scraping/scratching maybe? When i enter the higher rpm range, it'll start, then ill let off and it'll stop. Ill will try to get the sound on tape because i have no idea how to describe it. Im really depressed about this because i just got my sho back from the tranny shop and it already needs major repairs, and whats worse is this problem im having and i have no clue what it is and its getting very worse very fast. cry

First thing you do is pop the hood, have a friend start the car and rev it until the noise occurs have the friend record the RPM it is doing this at. This will also rule out of it is coming from the tranny or not. Get us a recording, after you have ruled out tranny and can tell us what RPM it is occuring at.

do you have the a/c on? the only scraping sound i've ever heard was from my a/c clutch.

A/c has never worked since ive had the car.

Might be a bad cat or loose heat shield.

Just put the y pipe on so im thniking its not the cat. As for the heat shield, thats an interesting theroy, my catback is pretty messed up. But would a heat shield get progresivly worse?
