I agree with above, better cooling will make it last a long time as well as a aftermarket filter. And yeah If you got a 93 see if you can find a brain from a 94-95.

What does a 94-5 brain do for the 93? Also what about putting another filter inline at the extra cooler ? Sounds like a good idea to me... Could prolly use an oil filter relocation kit...

the 94-5 ECU has better shift points programmed into it...easier on the tranny and higher line pressure? use synthetic fliud...that will be nice for it~

I'm intriged by better filtration. Has anyone tried to use one of those to have more/better filtration for the tranny. I don't remember what size hose the kits use though. I have seen something similar on front-end loaders for the hydraulics using a regular PH8A (FL1A) for its filter. Hmmm....

I had a tranny done for a Mark VII I bought with a bad one. The guy built it well, (built racing trannies for blower cars) used Mk VIII servos etc. What he told me about trannys (at least for the AOD) was early and firm/hard was better than late and soft. Man that turned out to be a fun car. It would bark the tires in 2nd and sometimes 3rd! I figure thats what is the deal with what you described to me there.
