I've moved this baby from Reno (where na a soul in sight would touch it tho all were impressed) to Los Angeles (whose SHO shop in San Diego rescheduled on me twice and I ended up moving before I could get in). So anywhere in Pheonix, Gilbert, Tempe, Scottsdale etc etc would be convenient.

Beside the usual cosmetics, I have a few simple issues, oil pan gasket leak, sparks need to get done. In fact she needs a 120K. A/C is shot, had to remove the cruise control module from the cyl cause brake fluid was leaking onto the switch, shorting it out. I WOULD like to get it replaced eventually.

So, basiclly looking for a shop that can share the project with me. I supply the funds and parts, they supply the labor. Guess you can say its the easy way out, but Im not prepared to take work over just yet. Waiting for the mods to do that.

For what any shop is going to charge just for the labor, you could do it all yourself and have enough left over for mods.

We'll be having another work/meeting up here at the shop, probably on the 1st of October. Since your dues for the AZ SHO Club are all paid up, you are welcome to bring it out here and we can talk you through everything, and I'll let you use my tools and lift also. Just get all the parts ahead of time so we don't tie up the lift.

Welcome BTW.

Since most of what you're looking to do isn't that SHO-specific (at least that's how it sounds to me at the moment), I'd think just finding a reputable shop might be good.

I've had my car to SVCMotorsports in Scottsdale. They're reasonably familiar with SHOs and were easy to work with when they did my 60k (for the same reason, I didn't have the time). That's been a few years ago, though, but they might be worth a chat. They're in the airpark in Scottsdale, about Scottsdale and Butherus.

I'm sure there are other decent places as well.

Tom, speaking of lift, I need to get the Pumpkin up in the air somehow on Saturday to check the PP. The failure mode of the PP that just came out of the silver car may be detectable with the starter out, so I'd like to check it since it's the same type of PP. If I can do that before loading it up for Sunday's event I won't have to worry about it on the track.

I can do this on stands if need be, just wanted to mention it.

I agree on SVC MotorSports being qualified AND honest. Rob at SVC did the tuning on The Other Woman for me and Dean is a world class fabricator. They have a very good team there also. They are at 7333 E. Butherus Dr. Bldg A-100 480-998-8885 Butherus is the entrance street to Scottsdale Airport.

Troy at Modern Auto would also be a good choice. 2501 W. Behrend Dr. 623-587-5568 Troy is a hot rod specialists, so don't be surprised to see a real 427 AC Cobra or a De Tomaso Pantera in his shop being rebuilt or reinforced.

Eric,

You're welcome to use the lift. If the Other Woman is on it and I'm not there, just roll the biotch off.

And the AZ thread non-sequitor award goes to...drumroll...F-22 Raptor SHO!!! Yaay!! The crowd roars!

Hey, I'm up for Oct 1. I'll be in town and will, hopefully, have all the hardware to change out the seat in the Pumpkin and maybe do some other useful things. Assuming it's still in one piece after this weekend...

Tom sez he's actually working these days, though, so I 'spose it's up to him...

Eric,

When are you going to pick up your Pumpkin with my trailer, Saturday or Sunday? I might need it early Saturday morning to haul The Other Woman to Troy's place. I'll know more by tomorrow night.

Yeah, we got real busy all of the sudden, so I don't have many weekends open right now. We were lucky to get away this past weekend. I'll let eveybody know when I can host another get together here.

Tom, I'll probably be up mid-afternoon or so on Saturday. I hope to have a new solenoid by then (found a supplier), and I want to check the Pressure Plate. So I suspect I won't need the trailer until later afternoon. There's no hurry, I can do it later if need be, I just need it on the trailer at my place by evening.

Probably not as bad as mine!!!

Don't worry about how bad your car looks! Can't be as bad as mine... and the one I have now is an improvement from the last one!!!

Guys have fun on the first! I'll be in Philly again for my B Day. I'm starting to feel like an AZ SHOC slacker!!

Also, I am going to do a trans swap soon.... this is being brought on by the fact that the car goes through more oil than gas!! (rear main seal) I'll be replacing the trans because 3rd gear grinds like a SOB. I know you guys just did Mikey's so I'd appreciate any tips. I was thinking of a heavier duty clutch with thicker straps because ummmmm ...... I'm ******* my equipment from time to time. Let me know where I can get the best prices / service for parts. I think the clutchmaster stage 1 is just what I need.

Sorry for missing out on all the fun.... I just moved out of my place and I'm ready for a much needed vacation.

Peace!

P.S. does any one know why I'm getting sooty exhaust when I have the secondaries open? I was thinking that maybe I should swap the computer out with the one from the 90. My current piece is a 1989 with 139k on it. It gets roughly 400 mi to the tank of gas even though the exhaust gets sooty at WOT.
