Is there any difference between a Gen I and a Gen II 3.0 L engine. If anyone knows please let me know.

There was a running change in the alternators, but I don't recall when the change was made. There are also a few changes to the castings on the intake manifold - the later ones had mounting locations for the EGR pressure sensor. The intake crossover tube was revised to provide clearance for the DIS module's rear connector from the roll damper bracket. The DIS was moved farther forward on the intake. These were minor changes.
