New? No. If it was a 0 mile crate engine I bet it would be expensive. There were 2 on ebay yesterday.

I remember your last post and I would be sure that was necessary before you make a purchase like that.

There was a brand new 0-mile 3.0 liter on ebay a couple months ago that ended up selling for $700 or $800.

Probably had more than one seal that dried up after sitting all those years in somebody's garage.

For a new no miles for a grand is a great price.

But like Rick said on that no mile motor, youd have to open it up and check all the seals.
Reason i backed off that deal.

Replacing the seals is trivial compared to being able to find a 0 mileage motor.

When they were available through Ford, they were $4995.00 (approx. summer of '01).

tappedsho,
Why would you be making offers on a 79K engine when your buddy can get a brand new engine for $1000??

I agree. New seals are trivial if you stumble across a lo/no mileage motor. The 15k mile 89 SHO engine I bought had been sitting in a warehouse for 10+ years but I had no hesitation in buying it. The seals all looked good but I replaced the crank and oil pan seals anyways. The injectors were all gummed up too but a $100 injector cleaning fixed that. She started at the first turn of the key! thumbs_u

i have a 0 mile motor in my storage shed. i was gonna buy it off a friend but ended up going the 3.2 route. the person he got it off had it totally redone and then lost the car to a mechanic in a court battle. long of the short, it supposedly has SHOShop heads and cams and may have been bored out to a 3.3. i dunno any of this for sure but if u or anyone for that matter is interested lemme know. its for sale since i dont want it anymore.

how much are you asking for it, and in all honesty do you know how well it runs or the condition its in?
