Hi I have a 2000 Ford Taurus, has a 24v v6 engine that has locked up. Question for yall...can I put a sho engine maybe from a 98 or 99 sho into my Taurus se? Kinda like the car and kinda wanna keep it.

It will physically fit, but you will have to custom alot to make it work. Mounts, wiring and computer, questions about transmission bolting up/adapter plate or SHO transmission, etc.
You would be much better off finding an original engine replacement. Nothing else will be plug and play. If you want to spend a bunch of money and time, anything can be done.

Kinda figured unfortunately but thank you so my next question then if I get a original size replacement what kind of mods can I get that can make 24v 3.0 v6 kinda act like. Poor man's sho engine? Lol

Can buy a cheap gen 1/2 and have the real thing.

Good question. I am not as familiar with the regular Taurus engine as I have only ever owned SHO versions. There is a taurus forum https://www.taurusclub.com
I haven't been there in a while, but they are familiar with all manner of modifications for the more common Taurus platforms.

Even with the SHO motor from the early v6-v8, (not the new twin turbo) substantial higher engine output is hard to obtain without forced induction (turbo, Supcharg, nitrous) to where you really notice a jump. I have finally, after many, many years, determined that you need the right platform at the beginning to get reliable higher performance in a daily car. If it's a part time frankenstein toy then anything goes.
