is there a difference between gen1 and get 2 fuel pressure dampener??

I have a fuel pressure dampener that came off a 90 engine in the jy. I don't know whats inside it so don't know if it has parts that are likely dry rotted or other,
just letting you know-personally, its the kind of part I would rather not use from a jy, cause again, you don't know and all the effort for a bad part sucks.
