taking the truck or the SHO? i'll be heading out of MN and hammering down I-90 to get there. wanna make it a convoy? i'm planning on leaving sunday morning around 9:30 and driving to PA, staying the night, and then driving up from PA the next day on monday.

The SHO if I can get all the minor BS that I want to do before spring hits. They are also alot of others from MN going so it will be a good sized convoy if we all leave at the same time.

C'mon tax return money.

At this point we have planned a track event at New Hampshire International Raceway (think they just changed their name) and an Autocross on Thursday.

There will be drag racing Wednesday night, but it is just an open drag night where we hope they will have a lane for SHO's. IT won't be a regular convention event, just something for those that want to fight the regular drag crowd.

Believe me, I'm going to try. But it looks like that's a week that I won't be able to take off. Things can change, though.

If the convention location is a place you've never been before, There's always more things to do/places to see than one can w/o all the pre-organized events, even when staying a couple xtra days.

I've been to 7 and have only done track 1 of 7 and drags 2 of 4 times possible, had a couple xtra days twice and have always had things in the area there wasn't time for that I'd like to have done/seen.

Really should not be a prob finding something!

I have a question about the track day at New Hampshire Intl.: I know it says very clearly "no convertibles" but I still thought it would be worth it to ask,
are even convertibles with a roll bar denied?

TIA

If Don doesn't check in here soon, you might try emailing him directly at [email protected] with that question.

I suspect if convertibles with roll bars were allowed by NHMS it would have been specified, but it can't hurt to get clarification to be 100% sure.

About convertibles, I am trying to get specific info from the track and the club that is helping us with insurance.

I put in the no Convertibles thing just because most insurance companies say that now.

If you have a car with a full SCCA style roll cage and race seats/belts, then I would say you are fine, but I will hope to have an answer on that within a few days.

For some reason, getting track rules from the various entities always seems to be a hard thing to do.

When I get an answer, i will post a new note on the sites here, and on the lists and on the club web site.

Till then, if you have a convertible and WANT to bring it to the convention, get in touch with me directly at [email protected] and we can discuss it.

I will let them run if the track and insurance allows them.

:woo-hoo:

Take this for what it's worth:

I attended a track day last year with SCDA and there were a few convertibles there. In particular an S2000, although it had a rollbar...

Now, the track may change its policy. The insurance may also dictate what can run. But I do know it's been done.

On a separate note, I sent in my registration yesterday. One question I had was in regards to garages at NHIS. With SCDA, you had the opportunity to use their garages for $25 per space. I'm hoping we'll have this option, especially if it's hot or rainy...

I would rather see Forum names changed to real names........

Anyway, at one of the Registry Conventions back in the '90s, the Convention program had a list of attendee names after their Convention number, their city/state, and their basic car info. This was very useful for identifying car with owners when you looked at cars in the parking ot.
