I recently ordered the Ford certificate of limited production and I wanted to frame it, then i thought I could frame it with my window sticker (which is not original and will be on 8.5x14 cardstock), THEN I thought why not some custom matting and a nice big SHO logo between the two. so with the help of paint and some pictures from the internet I made a mock up of what I plan to make to display my cars documentation (mind you, I dont even have a family portrait in my house) the dimensions work out to 22"x16" for the one without the photo and 28"x16" for the one with a 4x6 picture. I'm torn between doing one with or without a photo of the car just because of the size itll take up on the "one wall i'm allowed to decorate my way", I'd get a better "glamour" shot of the car for the frame if i go that way, but thats what I had on hand to make the mock up., what do you guys think? Honest answers, just keep in mind its a mock up and the matting will be carbon fiber vinyl over thick poster board and I am making the frame myself, also my wife can still veto this thing and the carbon fiber might be the thing to do it lol.

I like it with the photo - gonna have to use some light filters - and get a roadside near the water photo as well. Drive to the beach area.

I enjoy it when men are more sentimental about their cars then their family.... brings a tear to my eye.

the timing was off for sure, we are doing family pictures this summer for the purpose of 2 different family portraits in different spots of the house that we just renovated, my wife's final touch to the updates. the car's frame will be in the bedroom on my side of the bed lol. but I do agree with a water photo, just tricky finding water thats not on a dirt road around here. thinking since im on the west coast maybe a sunset with the headlights on parked in a boat ramp. all that said I'm not more sentimental about my car than my family...my car IS family lol

after doing some shopping I've come to this as my final rendering, a 20x30 black frame ($14) matte carbon fiber matting ($10) gray secondary matting ($2 poster board) black or carbon fiber SHO vinyl lettering on the matting itself, and a 4x6 glamour shot of my actual car (AI image in the rendering), a smaller window sticker reproduction on heavy card stock at the bottom, and the certificate at the top. all told Im under $100 for the entire display. thought about adding some vinyl to the glass above the carbon fiber matting for a shadow look, maybe a ford logo or script or the bull logo I use for my car but I kind of like how clean this is. couple weeks I should be able to post the final product

Glamour shots are done, pollen season in Florida means I have 1 hour after a wash to get a decent picture. So I did some locally, and it's overcast so these might not be the final ones but one is going in the frame for now.

As much as I enjoy my SHO, I don't think I'd hang any car related items in my bedroom. You don't have a garage where the SHO lives? All my car art is in my garage. Not trying to discourage you in any way. Your house, your choice.

No garage yet, trust me I have an overwhelming amount of wall art all car related that would fit nicely in a garage, and the day I build one I'll move it all out there and my wife will be happier for it lol.

Almost done, the certificate came in today along with the production breakdown, I'm like a gitty mopar guy looking at all the low production numbers. #286 of 405 in green gem metallic (a 2013 only color) 1 of 145 with the Mayan gray seats, 1 of 107 with adaptive cruise. Those numbers are for gem green cars. But the real unicorn is the guy that ordered the cargo organizer with a green gem car, that's a 1 of 1 lol

Done, little less than perfect but I like it, cardboard and poster paper isn't as easy to work with as I thought, my xacto knife kept tearing the paper. So when the day comes that I sit in a folding chair in a field with this displayed in front of my car I'll re-do the matting.
