Are the auto dimming mirrors easy to install in a Gen1? Just looks like running a power and a ground.

Power (I think I tapped into switched power at the moonroof) and ground (grounded to one of the bolts that hold the moonroof motor in), and the metal button needs to be changed. Best bet is to just glue the new one on top of the old one. I think these mirrors still have the button on them.

Hmm, I don't have a moonroof, I wonder if the lighted mirror on the visor wiring could be used. Do they have map lights on them too?

They do, but you would need it to be a switched power source (so 12v only when the key is on). I think the map lights are constant 12v.
