The shifter **** in my '90 is toast. It disintegrates in my hand when the weather gets hot. The oem **** is ok but I'd like something with say a leather/metal combo with shift pattern. Anyone have any recommendations? If I can't find something like that then I'll go with the Mustang **** or Steeda. Thanks...

I have a nice carbon-metallic shift **** that I got from ebay. $15 Fits great. I'll try to post a pic of it later tonight...

It doesn't have the shift pattern on it... but that was how I wanted it.

The SHO MTX shifter stick has the same threads as the 5.0L Mustang with a T5; 12mm x 1.75 So any **** that fits a 5.0L Mustang with a T5 will fit the SHO.

I have also been looking for a replacement shifter for my 92 SHO. I bought a couple off eBay hoping they would fit but they didn't. They were off different make cars. Then I bid on this auction which ended today: Mustang shift **** .

It was for Mustangs, but hey, they should fit. It's for a Ford should I thought I'd give it a try.

shotx- that may be the way I'll go if I don't find what I want. I'm not sure if I like the Steeda **** or not either.

Fred-Too bad you don't have a pic of it. No fair your driver seat looks like it's in good shape!

Crazy88- You just beat me to the post. I haven't seen any with the pattern. I've only seen either a swirl or the S.

Cohiba, nice shifter but not my style. I am looking for something a little closer to stock appearance. The plain leather is ok but I'd like maybe some metal on top if I can find it. Still looking...

shotx, do you happen to know the part number for that from FORD, or is it an aftermarket ****. I would like a stock look/feel, but a tan colour and when I went to FORD, they said that mustangs and SHO's only ever had black....

I might just be keeping my OEM one for a while. I like my sho because it looks like an ordinary Taurus, but, hehe, it definately not. So the more subtle mine looks, the happier I am!
