Shift problems

Having hard time finding gears ,have to lift on shifter to find gears even reverse in my 1995 ford Taurus sho 3.0l

Well, there was no 3 liter SHO and there was no Gen III SHO in 1995. So, I am not sure if this is really the place to be posting your question.
