Today on MT they have the video up; ran a drag race where you can watch the Nissan GTR smoke the mighty GT500 off the line and in the 1/4 with a 3.8L V6.

I wonder what kind of pad material they are using on the stang? Or if the extra power is allowing a much higher speed on the straights and requiring a lot more brake to slow for the turns?

ford just has a habit of using crappy brakes.
look at all the sho guys who do the 96 upgrade.
us lincoln guys who get cobra brakes. i've overheated some brakes.
the gen 4 sho got bigger brakes after awhile. ford knew they weren't enough.
brakes that aren't sufficient in a track environment is just something ford tends to do.

Extra speed will require more heat dissipation, for sure. But, the Chevy also has brake ducts for additional cooling where the Ford doesn't...
