My 96 SHO has over 100,000 miles on the clock now and I am looking for struts. I am new to the SHO, (purchaced with 96,000 mi.), and have a question about the semi active suspension,(well, maybe a few). Is it active within the struts? Does this make the replacements expensive? How effective is the switch offered by Sho shop? Any help would be appriciated. Thanks -Tacmedic

New ford struts installed will be around $800.00. They are about $130 each. You can put on '99 spec struts and loose the SARC. To test if you want the SHO Shop switch or not pull the SARC fuse from up front in the engine compartment box.

The SHO Shop does connect in the trunk at the SARC brain though. It supposedly does not cut the PS as much as just pulling the fuse does.

So, if I decide to go with aftermarket struts can I just leave the fuse out for steering effort or should I get the switch?

I would only get a switch if you didn't like the lack of PS. The SHO Shop switch is a rip. I use to have the wire diagram for this switch as it connects in the back. I'll try to find it.

I think you splice into the ground wire on connector 451. It's pin 32 and a black wire.

The fuse splice method will **** the SARC struts and ~70% of the PS. The other method at the SARC controller will reduce the PS 40%. OSIBT
