Good-day everyone! I'm curious to see what people may think of this safety issue. It's a 92MTX..

*My car was in multiple accidents prior my ownership.*

My driver seatbelt seams to not "catch" when yanked on very hard and fast. Trust me, I'm a PRO at yanking wink , this seems like a problem.

I'm comparing my SHO to a Ford truck I use to have.. you would "quickly" bend over to pick up something on the passenger floor board, then 'snap' that seat belt would cause the gum to shoot out of your mouth!

What gives, is my seatbelt broken? Can I disassemble the coil and how does one inspect it?
If I was to get in an accident and say the seatbelt didn't catch, wouldn't the airbag **** me?

half-way there, I think.
Take it back to a dealer - by law they have to fix it - no charge, if it is defective. Now if you take it apart and screw it up - you will be paying for it.

I would say that if the dealer can tell if the car has been in an accident that you will not get it fixed for free. I think is says in eather the shop manual or the owners manual if the car is in an accident thay you should replace the seatbelts that were being used because they can be damaged in the accident. Check e-bay I see new ones there all the time.
