Sct tuner troubles

While trying to update my sct x4 I keep getting this message no matter what computer I use. Anyone else experience this issue or know how to solve it? This is the first time I have used this device.

"Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click quit, the application will close immediately."

Same problem, called sct, got it to work on my lap top but not PC, said Microsofts .net problem. Windows 10 on PC, win 7 on lap top. Also had to right click SCT icon and hit maximize so I could see all the choices......good luck, call sct took 5 mins

Called sct. Very helpful but did not solve the problem. Believe the old PC has a large virus on it. Computer is not displaying any devices in device manager. If they would only make it compatible with a mac. Time to start asking friends.

I had an issue updating my SCT (don't remember the error message). The issue was Windows wasn't finding the drivers. I called SCT and they used remote desktop to control my computer, manually download the drivers, and get it all working. I could have installed the drivers manually but they're not in an obvious location on their website.

I got an old laptop from Craigslist for 40 bucks, basically gets on web and does email, but I used it to tune my G8 and now the SHO

Is basically any laptop good enough to tune as long as it has Windows? I see these chromebooks going real cheap. Would they work?

I believe you need real windows, not a chromebook or netbook.

Don't you have to have a copy of Windows to install in boot camp?

On a positive note I got the tunes on the x4 on my work computer. You have to have a laptop to datalog correct? Or can the x4 store those files? Now just the waiting game starts for the ford dealer to call me to get my tubing to the cac fixed then. After that it's tuning time.

Not too sure. I've never owned a mac. Wish I could be more help.
