This is not a complete list of events as I haven't gotten the list of shows yet. But thus far this is what I've come up with for events this spring/summer & fall. Please do your utmost to attend. I understand what it's like to travel for hours on end to get to a meet and that some will just not be possible for eveyone to go to. All I can say is do your best.

I am very excited about this years events. There are a few places that I would have liked for us to have meets at, but it seems that the schedule is pretty much packed down with at least one meet per month. I have incorporated a few joint meets, one with TCCA and the other with ECSHOC. We may also be joined from time to time with members from the SVT/SHO Society which I think will be most exciting!

Here's the scoop, please mark your calendars and try to attend as many as you possibly can. As always, if anyone has any suggestions or ideas or would be willing to lend me a hand I more than welcome it.

Thus far, I have planned on the following meets. Links to the locations will follow shortly:

May 3rd - Quaker Steak and **** - Cleveland Ohio - @10:30a.m. until ??

May 30 - June 1 - Carlisle All Ford Nationals - Mechanicsburg, PA - Meeting up with ECSHOC and other clubs! Tons of fun!

June 28th - Maumee Bay! ******UPDATE!******

July 14 - 17 - SHO Club National Convention

August 1 - Joint meet with TCCA - Norwalk Drag strip - Norwalk, Ohio
August 2 - Possibly going to Cedar Point with TCCAers. Who's interested in doing this? I'm in as I've never been to Cedar Point.

September (TBD) - Planning on Muncie Drags again. Probably will only be a 1 day event rather than the camp and drag like last year due to timing and other events. But hey...who's not into drag racing even if for only a day. Perhaps we could stay overnight at a motel or something. That will be determined at the meet I'm sure.

October - TBD - Possible Quaker Steak and **** or Napoleon meet.

November - TBD

December - TBD

As always, suggestions are welcomed. Please email me at mailto:[email protected][email protected]</a> if you have any questions. Please pass this info along to those who might not be on the forum. I do plan on doing an email to the list shortly.

Hope to see you guys soon!

I know this is a little OT, but who is attending Carlisle from the group? Hopefully the 3.0L GoCart will be attending.

for Hunter!

If you like Beth, I'll see about doing something joint with the SVT/SHO Society for this one. I'm not sure what's going on with the SHOcago drag day...haven't heard anything back from them in awhile shrug

Any thing in Muncie this year?

Also, we have a new Quaker Steak and **** in Beavercreek(Dayton Ohio Suberb) right across from Wright State University. WSU has huge parking lot's that get used by the electric race car team for testing, so we may be able to set up an AutoX there, or we could all cruise ten minutes to KilKare Speedway for some 1/4 mile time. Just a suggestion, and if your interested Bizzy, I could go ahead and helping you organize everything, being the local and all. thumbs_u

Yes, September for Muncie is the plan right now. A bit cooler than when we were there last time, hopefully we'll get some better times this year.

If you would like to help in orgainization that's cool with me. It's a bit late to organize some AutoX but see what you can find out and let me know. Sounds like fun to me! See what the track would cost us also. I should have my new setup completed by then so I'd be interested in seeing what she can run.

I'll ask next time I'm there about track rental. At the very least, Test&Tune days cost $10 for drivers a $5 for spectators, so I'm sure it won't be to much.

As for Muncie, I'm there this year. thumbs_u

I personally can't imagine the Muncie day without the camping. That was at LEAST half the adventure last year!

As much as I enjoyed the drags (let's face it, these aren't drag cars) getting the opportunity to shoot the breeze at a campground full of insects and noisy bullfrogs was the shizzle. Am I allowed to say that?

Oh, and making it a 2-day thing gives more reason for people to come who are 3+ hours away (like the K-zoo people).

Just my thoughts.

EDIT: Oh, and if we don't do the September meet early in the month I probably can't make it, as my wife and I are expecting our first child on the 19th!

EDIT again: Since there's already a drag day planned for 8/1/03, why not do something else for the September meet? Plan an autocross or something, a 2-day event, complete with camping, at a whole new venue!

If people would like to just do a camping meet I have an outstanding location to recommend...I love camping and in all my travels I've yet to find a campground as nice. Problem is it's in northern lower Michigan; about 4 hours north of Detroit but it's beautifully wooded with large campsites and a small but beautiful spring fed lake. I would be happy to set something up if enough people are interested in the drive north, fortunately the trip is 99% I-75 with only a little bit of country driving.

man, i cant wait to join the Tri-State club, sounds like a lot of fun. i lost my job back in february and i have had to use the money saved up to build my dream SHO to keep the bills paid so my SHO still sits with the motor on the ground next to it and no paint. once i get back on my feet i definately wanna join this club even if i dont have a SHO runnin. Bizzy, i still have the email u sent me back in the witner with all the details. hope to meet all u people sooner than later.

I've never been camping, but I sure do like northern Mich, what area are you talking about? My dad's family used to have a cabin in Cheboygan county, I sure miss it.

There's a place that's more centralized, basically right in my back yard. Pokagon State Park has a great camping spot and is right off the Toll Road and I-69. Just thought I'd throw that in there. Maybe we could camp there after the Muncie drag event? shrug

And as always Beth, if you need any help, just lemme know and I'll do my best. thumb

Thanks Dave, but you'd better congratulate my wife. She's the one who has to figure out how to get the kid out of there!

I figure in about 16 years my SHO will make for a great first car for him/her!

****, I'd buy your '92 and store it (only driving it on special occasions) until the kid is 16 except it's that green color!!!

Later.
