I was looking on RockAuto and noticed they have Sachs branded struts. Anybody have experience with these? If so, please post up any feedback or experience with them.

I had my mind set on KYB but would be willing to pay a little more for a better ride. This is for my '92 that is getting a complete suspension overhaul.....

I also noticed KYB offers a complete strut/spring/mount assembly, sold through RockAuto. I thought Monroe Sensatrac was the only manufacturer offering that.....

Anybody have any feedback on the KYB assembly? Having an assembly ready to install would save a lot of time. I know the struts are decent but I'm more concerned about the spring and mount parts. I planned on re-using the factory springs(which still sit at the original factory height) and replacing everything else with quality aftermarket parts. My SHO is strictly a daily driver and I don't need anything 'performance' orientated. However, I don't want parts that won't work with a SHO versus a standard Taurus. In a nutshell, I want to do everything once and correct.

Any insight would be much appreciated!

I think the complete assemblies are a good idea because everything is new, compatible, and assembled. Monroe has a buy three, get one free rebate deal from time to time.

I installed 4 Sachs last fall, while I have no experience with KYB or Sensatracs, I am very satisfied with the ride and handling of the Sachs. The only problem is the fronts are shorter than stock and required taking them to a shop to assemble.

Wasn't Sachs the oem supplier for the GenIII SHO? No experience with aftermarket Sachs struts.

I could be totally wrong on this, but I thought Sachs was the OE strut supplier for 92-95 SHOs. If not 89-91 also.....

Which struts did you have on there before? That might give a little comparison.

The Monroe quick struts I bought not long ago for our Camry are assembled in USA, for what that data point is worth. I would avoid made in Mexico or China. I have my doubts that the Sachs you are looking at are made in Germany like the OEM BMW bits.
