Colorado does not use a salts on the roads. There is no need to rust proof your car. Want proof - I'll be in Aurora tomorrow - My car looks like new underneath - no rust. My car has been in Colorado since after being born.

No salt?!?!?! Wow I need to move there...there are days during the winter that I come home and my car is no longer red...it is a crystal white! Man I hate winter! If you do end up rustproofing it I would recommend Krown rustproofing. My car has been krowned and undercoated and it has no rust on it even with the winters I have to go through up here in the great white north. Good luck!

"marson" makes (or made, my can is kinda old...has price tag from place that went out of business 4 years ago) an aerosol can called "rubberized undercoating". Works like a charm.
Just don't smoke when putting it on....can says "Vapors may cause flash fire". it also contains Methylene Chloride, Hexane, and Xylol. This is some SERIOUS stuff, I doubt you'll be able to get it anywhere but a body shop or direct.

I am looking to undercoat it but I also found some really good info on "electronic rustproofing"
here. I just want to be on the safe side. I figured double protection and I don't have to worry about rust at all. Hey Terry, I know that Colorado does not use salt, but here on base they use this stuff called liquid salt, they tell me its very corrosive.

That product will not work any better than anyting else. I have seen cars with similar set ups and they will still rust. I am going to be undercoating my car before the winter and was also thinking about getting it fireglazed. A very good detail shop here does fireglazing on the paint to protect it. The only problem is that I don't know what fireglazing is or how good of an idea it is. I will probably head up to the shop to see what they have to say about it.

I used POR15 for the first time on surface rust under my car this summer. That stuff is awesome. Its not touted as a rust proofer per say, but it cures rock hard and is supposed to be impermeable to air. If the metal isn't exposed to oxygen, it wont oxidize (rust). I'm betting that this stuff will be an outstanding rustproofer. Time will tell. I'll see how it looks after the winter. BTW follow the instructions on the can to a T. Including not getting it on you. It literally took 2 weeks for me to get it off my hands. No solvent will beak it down. I tried em all.
