Took off the rear side skirts today to further investigate the rust formed in the "dog legs" on the rear doors.

Here is what I found.

Honestly, Its not as bad as I thought. However I'd like to prevent it from spreading further. I would like to strip the paint off, Put some kind of rust prevent-er or "Killer" (I've heard the name POR-15 thrown around here a lot) and use dupont duplicolor to paint over it as its not a area visible on the outside anyways.

Underneath the car is absolutely spotless, Not a bit of rust so I'd like the rest of the car to reflect that.

Any Suggestions? Should I just leave it alone?...ETC.

I would fix it, as it will spread more, eventually. Can you stick a screwdriver or something sharp through it?

If you're not going to cut it out, look at "rust converters" that turn the rust into something else, then you can paint over it with something like POR15, or a rust encapsulator. Check out www.eastwood.com for that stuff.

Luckily, your rocker panels look good.

You think that's bad ?
Here in the winter salt zone of PA we'd label that minor.
We call that patina.
This is normal for PA.
