Rust.. argh

I noticed today (first time I've driven my car in a week)right above the rear bumper, there is a chip about an inch long and about a 1/4 inch wide. and it's starting to rust . How would I address this!

If you have the dough, take it to a good body shop or a dealer to have it repaired. If not, you could try over the counter products from auto parts stores to remove the rust and apply a product that will either keep it from rusting until you can have it repaired right or try your hand at painting. 3M and some other companies sell a fiberglass "pencil" that works really good for removing rust and paint, then you apply touch up paint. my car ended up rusting in that place also. it was just some surface rust so i sanded it down with some sand paper. then i used a finer sand paper to get it smoother. then i painted it with a primer. sanded it a little with some finer sand paper. put some more primer on. sanded it down a little. then put painto on it. did about 2 or 3 coats. then put a clear coat on. looks perfect. if you want to see some pictures of my body work go to www.geocities.com/gw2kbust Later.

by the way....i got the paint at pep boys. i forgot to right the vin number down so i went to pep boys, looked at the paint, and kinda just remembered the color of my car. got the paint home and it was a perfect match skills

lolol. yeah i haven't told her about that picture yet. i love the cheeks. lol. she told me not to put the picture on the internet but i couldn't resist. oops
