Hay all. Has anyone had any experiences with Royal Purple motor oil? I was just screwing around on ebay and saw a 5 gallon jug or royal purple synthethic oil for like 100 bucks shipped. Seems like a heck of a deal. Ive always though or royal purple along the same lines as amsoil or redline, that type of quality.

Would appreciate any thoughts.

thanks

Royal Purple is just like AMSoil - a full synthetic oil designed for high-temperature performance engines. I used it before on my 3.0 Vulcan. Royal Purple claims that you can go 15K miles between oil changes, replacing the filter every 3K and topping it off with oil. I tried it, and the results were pretty good - after 15K, the oil looked very clean, and "felt" good (feeling the oil is by no means a good way to test viscosity, but it's the only way I could test it).

I bought it from a local dealer for $60/case, or $5 per quart.
