Everything was great until I started driving home. My engine started to shake violently (almost like it was missing or pre-detonation). When I barely made it home I did a KOER test and received two codes, 116: Engine coolant temperature higher or lower than expected and 225: Knock sensor fault during dynamic response test. I then did the cylinder balance test and received a code 90: All cylinders are contributing equally. Would a bad knock sensor cause all this?

Any help in diagnosing this problem would be great.

Thanks,
David

Update - 11:11pm - Did another KOER test and received a 111(System pass), but car is still running badly. If I hold the pedal around 1200 RPM a lot of the shaking goes away, but it still hiccups a little. I also noticed while I am running my engine, I hear a fluttering sound from the acc belt area, maybe harmonic balancer? Did my time slip? Crank cancer? I sure hope not...

Are you sure you hooked up the wires correctly?

I know, simple/stupid, but better to check and check off than spend a ton only to find something stupid later...

My first concern would be the engine temp. Was it overheating? I wouldn't worry about the knock sensor, it won't cause the issues you're having. When is senses detonation it pulls timing advance.

Second thing I would do is check the accessory side of the engine, since you said you heard noise there. Make sure all pulleys are OK (not loose, no broken water pump shaft, etc). Check the crank bolt too.

Spark plugs are in the right order. Fuel Pressure is good. I do have a very subtle knock when cold in the morning. The knock goes away after 5 min or if/when the car warms up. On warm days the knock is not even there. The car builds oil pressure really fast. Less than a sec and that oil light is off. I did my upper 60K myself and the front 60K was done by a local guy that has owned 3 SHO's in his life and has done numerous 60K's in his life. Could it still be crank cancer or be something else. I also did notice I got 15 mpg of my last fuel up.

I did drive it some more and it seems to not be firing right, but I did do a cylinder balance test and received a code 90: All cylinders are contributing equally. The car just shakes a sputters. Could a bad coil cause this?

Thanks,
David
