where do you notice the water entering the cabin? Sunroof clogged drains are usually a first place to look. I have seen the rails leak in Honda's for sure. Not as common on taurus but not impossible.

Yeah that path does't seem like sunroof leaking at first blush. I would still test it and clean out the drains all the way down to make sure. The drain hoses should run down the a and c pillars to the wheel areas to exit. At the top of the a-pillar, after sunroof, I'd look at the upper windshield seal and rails for leaks. If you finally determine roof rail then I would get some automotive body sealer and use that and be careful with removing trim.

I don't have this newer model of SHO so I am not 100% of the routing. However, most factory sunroofs have drains at all 4 corners with hoses that run down the pillars. I would also try and confirm that the hose on that a pillar is draining correctly and not detached or something leading to water entering through the a-pillar.

There are videos of roof rail issues with other cars on youtube. I would select body sealer even though one or 2 backyard DIY have used silicone and other stuff.
