Where in the heck can I find connecting rod bolts at? Don't want to even attempt to reuse.

I just heard from V8 SHO website that they were torque to yield. I've reused rod bearing cap bolts on several engines, but wanna be sure on this one. No they are not damaged but the bearing on the other hand. Lololol. Has spun. Oh the joy of a sound of a rod knock.

If I can reuse them, it would be great. Just don't want to take a chance of snapping it off in the rod because they were to stretched to begin with.

I have reused them just to see if I could. It worked for me. Just added a bit of torque to stretch them a bit further.

The Duratec 2.5 rod bolts are said to be the same if you want new bolts.

Would u happen to know or have a part# for the 2.5 rod bolts. Yep sure did snap one. Oh joy. Blows the big one too. Had to weld a nut on the pick to get the stud back out but now just need a bolt. Would like to just buy the whole set to be on the safe side. After the very first one too. The plastic gauge and checking went fine but after a few burs to take of with a file sure snapped one.

I don't have the 2.5 number. I DO have a full set of 3.4's still in original bags with THAT part # on it if you want an obsolete number to cross reference.

(nope - they're not for sale)

Dam that's a hard number cross reference. Does ARP even make a bolt that's equivalent to that bolt?

I have only seen the bolts in Ford original packaging. I would check with your local dealer for the 2.5's.

My other issue is hopefully this crank and rod cap will be okay. The aluminum has been beaten off the bearing onto the crank but was able to work it off and clean it up rather well. But the cap is a little ruff but have to work that over as well then mic everything up.
