While I was getting my mufflers put on this past week, I asked the guy putting them on if I removed the resonator and put a round Magnaflow muffler (used in the Magnapack system), if it would increase sound. He said that the resonator that was already on there is straight through and it wouldn't make a difference what you put on, it would still be the same, he said that the round magnaflow muffler would probably make it quieter. Is this true. I did some research and on the Magnaflow website it kind of said the same thing, that it could be used with other mufflers to quiet things a bit. If so, why does anybody remove the resonator. Just curious in case I'd want more sound in the future. And he said it was straight through, so why would putting on reugular pipe make a difference? I'm assuming he was feeding me some BS. Anybody clear this up for me?
