Resinator....

im getting some exhaust work done, having them make it so itsonly single exhaust instead of the "dual" and they are puting on a 14 inch magnaflow.

should i have them get rid of the resinator?
replace it with a glass pack?
orrr keep it?

i like really loud, but i also like really fast, so whats the best performance wise?

i doubt the performance would change much at all either way.
it will definitely be more pleasing to the ears to have a good resonator in place.
what type of system are you getting? pipe size? muffler?

no clue. i asked the guy there, that i trust he has done all my cars in the past and my parents, and he just babbled and i tuned in when he gave me the price haha.

no. im saying im 17 and there is no way im dropping 300 bucks on that. maybe this summer or something.
but i do stuff in stages when i get the money.

Well if your going for loud don't use one. But the new Y-Pipe will definitly help with flow and may give you a better sound too.

im going for performance, loud is a bonus.
i would choose better performance and better sound over plain loud.
cause right now i have no mufflers and its freakin loud but it sounds like garbage and performance is no bueno.

Well if it's performance your after, not getting rid of the stock Y-Pipe is going to make getting new exhaust pointless. It will still have the crappy air flow coming from the Y-Pipe thus gaining nothing with a performace cat back exhaust.

id go with a cherry bomb muffler in place of the resonator.

Just pointing out that not getting a y-pipe completely defeats this statement. Better performance in every sense of the word is running through the y-pipe or lack-of y-pipe. Just keep it and get a y-pipe. Don't waste your money twice; which is what your going to do if you get the exhaust done instead a y-pipe.

$300 spent on a SHOSource y-pipe is much better money spent than $500 on the rest of the system. Keep the resonator, no matter what. You'll kick yourself for not getting the y-pipe sooner.... My .98$. If you're 17, listen to the guys that have been doing this since you were in middle school. They know what they're talking about.:swing:
