i agree,the Y-pipe is the best N/A power mod,usually you can find a used pipe for sale for $100-$200.if you would like you can replace the collector with a better flowing one and have it matched up with your catback for a little more.that alone will net you about the same power gains as 3 or 4 other "bolt ons" combined.

See if your exhaust guy will make you a y pipe. Its not a bad job. Just use a hi flow 2 into one cat and he wont have to built the Y. I got mine done for 150, and it made a huge difference.

If you dont heed our advice, i would go with a cherry bomb for a resonator. The one on my car is either 4" or 4.5" by 24". I cant remember what the diameter is for sure.

Less resonator generally results in more rasp which is a personal preference around these parts.

If you don't like the sound without mufflers you won't like it at all without a resonator.

<edit>Oh. More rasp=more attention from authority figures</edit>

Well since you said you do things in stages why not go with step 1 first and get the Y-Pipe intead of going to step 2 the exhaust. You will notice a considerable gain and will be less or just as expensive as the cat back exhaust.

That would be like having your Intake Tanks and Runners ported but not doing the BBB's. Again just my .02$ .......

These guys don't know what they're talking about.... Skip the y-pipe and go with a 4" cat-back. MOAR POWER and all the noise you could ever want.

ya my muffler shop i use said that 2.5 or 2.25 is plenty.

im getting some exhaust work done, having them make it so itsonly single exhaust instead of the "dual" and they are puting on a 14 inch magnaflow.

should i have them get rid of the resinator?
replace it with a glass pack?
orrr keep it?

i like really loud, but i also like really fast, so whats the best performance wise?

I would keep the dual out, looks getter. sounds better.

i like duals on trucks and stangs, thats about it for me, i can see why so many people like the dual on this, "but eh. not for me"(superbad quote)
