I have been looking for a replacement sub for my blown sub. All it does is pop. So I bought another JBL enclosure and factory sub off of ebay and that one is even worse . So, I have been exploring replacement options. I just want a decent replacement, not a 8" or 10" that needs modifications that my amp cannot push. The JL Audio 6WO has caught my atttention as a decent replacement and I was wondering what your thoughts are. Are you happy with its performance with the factory amp? Does is sound as good as the original?
Plan B is to buy a JL Audio component set, like the VR650-CSi and use one woofer in each enclosure. Then sell the extra enclosure and sub and to someone in need. I would have a pair of crossovers and tweeters to rid of too.
The
JL Audio 6W0 only requires a 75W RMS and.15-.20 cu.ft. of space to operate and costs $100. Looks like a winner to me considering the box is already there and the amp pushes 85W. The box may be a little big though. It has to sound better than what I've got now- POP-pa-POP...POP-pa-POP
