not sure where to post this one, but here goes. 92 mtx. a few weeks ago i had a speaker wire get caught in the window track and it fried the factory amp.. so i replaced the amp with one out of my 94 atx. i replaced the black box that says ford jbl audio system, along with the aluminum finish lookin box next to it that plugs in the black one. i also replaced the seats with the ones out of the 94 atx along with the door panels and the climate controll unit. when i went to start the car it cranked for a good 30 seconds and ran rough for a bit. now for some reason it starts hard all the time, stalls at stop signs, and when i put the car in reverse and begin to move, the doors all lock. what happend???????????????

Sounds like the computer is confused. It might have something to do with the door panels. The 94 atx has a feature that when you put it in drive, the doors will lock automatically . Put the old panels back in and see if that takes care of it. Just switch out the control panel units on the door if you want to try that first. Something is cross wired and I bet it is because of control panel on the drivers side door. If the 92 does not have that feature and the 94atx does, then the wiring in the panel must be different in my mind.

if you are talking about the little module that is attached to the drivers door panel i still have the original one in it, but that would make perfect sence

It's an autolock feature. MTX cars didn't come with it activated from the factory. Normally you'd have to jumper the connector under the seat to make this work on an MTX car. I'm guessing that when installing the ATX seats, that connector was plugged in, and you've now got the autolock feature enabled.

Here's two articles on how to enable/disable the autolock feature:

This would have absolutely nothing to do with how the car is running. Did you disconnect the battery when you did the radio stuff?

Yeah, you plugged the auto lock in. I did the same thing on mine, and now they lock...sometimes. But not always. Your other problem is unrelated.

Just like everyone always says - pull the codes and see what you get.
