Steve, you don't know how many EB Engines Torrie has tuned, and neither do I.

I will say two things. #1. If it wasn't a fuel delivery issue, why did Ford replace the Fuel pump, as that wouldn't have been damaged in this situation. #2. The MCT sensor lowers the advance and boost if the engine temp goes too high. Unless he was running a spray system to cool the MCT, there is NO way he was producing anywhere near the power at 117 deg as he would at 50. Torrie has warned me that my current tune, which was developed in 85-95 deg road temps in FL, may be to aggressive for cool temps. And... for both the Engine and Tranny to have issues at the same time, seems to be a very interesting coincidence.... Having run both Livernois & Torries transmission tunes, I am convinced they are almost identical. And... they are definitely better than stock.
You are right, I talked too fast, my apologies...

Another known issue is that the SHO has an inadequate cooling system. For some reason, the Flex does not, likely because of it's requirements for 4,500 lb towing capacity.

That alone, could have caused issues if the outside temp was 117, or anywhere near it.

Tranny could have also overheated.
