I am planning on removing the high pressure line containing the orifice tube/filter (liquid line) and the line that includes the accumulator. Looks easy enough, but I am wondering how to remove the lines. There are no nuts or similar pieces that act as attachments. It looks like clips of some sort hold the lines together. Does anyone know how I should remove these lines? FYI: I already had the system discharged at a repair facility so I won't freeze my hands when I disassemble the lines--much to the chagrin of the manager who desperately tried to scare me into having them perform the repair. Thanks for any advice you have.

there is a special disconnect kit you will need...it does both a/c and fuel lines and they come in different sizes just make sure you use the right size on whatever line you are taking out...they can be a pain in the a$$ to take off and you may have to work them a little bit...i just pulled some off a donor car last week so i know first hand about this...BTW why are taking the lines off are you changing them???

Just did mine today. You'll need a 1/2",5/8" and 3/4" ac tool to expand the locking spring in the couplings on the evaporator at the firewall, the condenser and the compressor hose. I disconnected the high presssure valve as well to get at the comp hose. The safety clips you see at the couplings just slide off. Push the collar of the tool into the flared end of the coupling and pull apart the connection. Make sure the tool is in all the way. The tools are inexpensive to buy or borrow at AZ. It takes 16" of extentions and a swivel to loosen the 8mm screw holding the accumulator strap to the bracket at the firewall. On my atx I had to move the steering pump reservoir to snake the hose attached to the accumulator towards the back and out.
