Remove ATX Shifter

My thumb button broke on me the other day, and im awaiting a used shifter. I got the center console apart as well as unclipped the OD wire from the tabs. What else needs to be done to loosen and remove the shifter? I thought it would just slide up but it seems to only turn left/right abit but not up. Thank you for any help.

If you are trying to get the whole shifter out there are 4 bolts holding it down. There is a u shaped clip about half way down on the front.Pull that out to take of just the top.

along with the vacuum lines that go to the shifter that releases the park brake when you switch gears out of park

Thanks for the help. I got the 4 bolts undone, and the whole shifter loose, but cannot find the "U" clip you speak of. I did manage to get the shifter assembly loose, but it seems im taking way too much apart. I just need get the handle off. I turns a little bit ( about a 1/4" each direction), but will not slide up.

Wow, blind me found the clip. I was looking in front of the whole assembly for it, lol.
