I have a question about the use of a remote starter on the SHO. I just installed one on my ATX a couple weeks ago and it works great. (It has the hood pin switch, brake connection, and everything else so that if you pop the hood, hit the brake, or try to shift out of park, it will shut off automatically.) Anyway, when it starts up, it turns on the parking lights to show that it's running, but it doesn't turn on the radio or climate control. The ad for the starter says, "Never get into a cold car again." However, because of the electronic climate control, the inside of the car can't start warming up until I get outside, get into the car, and put the key in the igntion (to the Run position)...then it will turn on the climate control and radio (if it was left on when I last shut off the car). I'm guessing that if I had a manual/mechanical climate control (with the knobs set to heat), they would automatically come on when the car starts. But is there any way for me to get the electronic climate control to come on with the remote starter?? Anyone else out there with experience on remote starters that can offer any tips or advice?? I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

You must have made an error in the hookup.
Or
Remember you must have the climate controll set to where you want it when you shut the car off.

When I get out of my car at the end of the day, I crank the defrost, and temp controll to its max setting. When I start the car in the morning it comes on.

Vise Versa for a/c in the summer.
The radio should not come on with the heater.

Also re-read the instructions, If I remember correctly there are two climate wires to hook up.

Hope this helped

Our cars have a 3rd ignition wire you have to tap into. Did you hook up the accesory power wire?

Yep. It had "Ignition 1" (blue), "Ignition 2" (green), and "Accessory" (white). Hooked them all up. Except for the one that gets hooked up to the tach if you want to use the "Tach method" for starting...I didn't bother with that. But the other ones I hooked up. Any other tips?? frown

If you can't figure it out Shops are usually glad to tell you waht they think could be the problem. Or you could just have them look it over and tell you EXACTLY what it is. But I would just ask if they have to look for them selfs they MIGHT charge you.

You have to hook up the heavy gauge grey wires, coming off the ignition, to your autostarters accessory wire to power the climate control (IIRC there are two but you only need to connect to one since they are both power to the climate control unit) You need to check your autostarter and find out if it has enough current to power all that. A lot of times they recommend a relay to power the climate control directly. Your autostarter should probably be able to handle the current draw though.
