I was curious if you could remote start vehicle equipped with PATS. If so, how? Also, which brand Alarm/Remote Starts do you recommend?

Thank you,

you can do it, but i believe you need a PATS elimination box.

This is what I have heard, just something to steer you in the right direction

Yeah, there are devices called PATS bypass or similar names that perform that function. Really good ones are only activated by the alarm/remote start unit and therefore won't allow the car to be started with a screwdriver like some of the cheaper ones.

Hey Sal, remember that my SHO has a remote start.

I have a box mounted next to the PATS reciever in the column that sends the PATS code to the reciever when the remote starter is activated. I have a Viper remote start system FWIW.

Hi, I have a Viper 2-way LCD remote start, you need either the box to bypass the PATS with the key inside of it, or the Bypass module Part # DEI 555F, If you don't have enought experience with alarms I will recomend leaving that to a pro. If you were closer to my town my brother could do it for cheap.

I am VERY handy with wiring and electronics. I just need to know a good brand. Also I want the vehicle to start up at nights with the lights turned on at start up... Hmm... I gotta plan this out JUST right..lol

Well you can program the car to turn on & off the parking lights while on remote start or have the auto lights on as SHO123 said. You just need to know how to program the remote start. For good remote start brands: Viper,Pithon,Clifford and couple other are all the same, manufactured by DEI industries.(good quality) Hope this info would help.

My remote start is programmed to turn the parking lights on at startup, regardless of the Autolamps.

I gotta get me one of those too Sal. I really need one on the 94 daily driver.
On any of those that you guys mention. Does the remote also unlock the doors and pop the trunk?
