Fun little update. In 2015 the Tire Pressure Module was moved to the headliner from the parcel tray. When it was moved it appears Ford removed the external antena.

The pinpoint test was a cary over possible and never updated. This may affect the range of the system over all. We will see what happens when I get an update

Fun update. 2016 sho T.P.M. is up in the Headliner. Our cars do not have an antenna.

I got my remote start to act up. Lock the car. Press the start button twice. The 4 ways would flash twice indicating the car received the signal to remote start. 5 seconds later the horn would sound.

If I opened the hood or put the car in gear and remote start it the horn would sound immediately.

P.I.D. data showed "other" as the fault. So to figure out the system that was as fault I further broke the car to fix it. More specifically I removed the wake circuit pin from the PCM connector and attempted to remote start the car. Sure as ****... the 4 ways flashed twice and 5 seconds later the horn sounded.

Hope thus helps someone in the future.

Oh. B.T.W. if the car doesn't flash the 4 ways twice the car didn't receive the remote start request I believe. Not sure how to break this for testing purposes.

Sad on the '15.

My '13 continues to amaze me. Maybe I'm easy to impress, but my autostart has never failed. From the kitchen of my 2 story home, my MKS starts and is waiting for me one story down and about 150' away each morning. Granted, it's not a far distance, but why would it need to work from further away than that? You are leaving your car slightly vulnerable to a short distance joy ride.

Forgive me for bring up an old thread. Want to post before I forget.

2016 MKT was supposed to have same T.P.M. module but have an external antenna.

Well you can order the antenna by vin, but the headliner wire harness doesn't have to coax cable. Looks like the wire diagram is wrong... f
Go figure.

Researching other options at the moment to try to extend range without the scaleable security system.

The 2016 SHO's TPM is shared with 2016 MKT. The MKT's wiring diagram and WSM is incorrect and may be corrected by the time of this post. It does not have a coax cable or antenna that i could find.

So after ordering some parts for experimentation to learn this, i did find that an antenna can be added to our Tire Pressure Module. Its more cost effective than I thought. The Custom Accessory Antenna (BC3Z-19G364-A) does plug into the TPM. To get to the TPM you only have to pull away the front A pillar trim pieces, then remove the sun visors.

The cable is about 2.5 feet long. I installed the TPM in its stock location, then installed the antenna behind the SYNC microphone stretching the cable between them and zip-tying to to to factory harness.

Experimentation with range found no change before installation. But because I'm hard headed i installed it anyways.

pictures are of the TPM from my car plugged into the custom accessory antenna. Then also of my car with the headliner partially removed to get to the TPM. its on the passenger side.

Is there any way to correct the spelling of the thread title? I know I'm not the best at spelling, but the correct spelling may help someone find this information easier.
